DAVE ROEVER and associated speakers conduct school assemblies throughout the country. Because of their appropriate use of humor, dynamic and personal presentation styles, honest examples from their past, and pertinent and realistic ideas, teenagers listen and learn. Speakers offer relevant solutions and hope related to substance abuse, drinking and driving, teen pregnancy, suicide, unhealthy self-esteem, and broken relationships. The funding for these programs can be covered by schools, parent/teacher associations, substance abuse prevention organizations, grants, businesses, service clubs, churches, and/or individuals who support the speakers' work and love teenagers.
Mr. Roever's dates are usually scheduled 6-24 months in advance. Occasionally, if plans are already in progress for an area, another engagement may be added sooner. Several events in one region (can include several states) must be scheduled for one trip to make the best use of Mr. Roever's time and to allow all the hosts to share the travel costs. Mr. Roever's office works with all of the hosts to set mutually acceptable dates.
DAVE ROEVER presents high school assembly programs which relate the injury he sustained during the Vietnam war, his recovery, and the love he and his wife share, to the struggles and questions of today's teenagers. Junior high students may join the high school students if the administration considers that appropriate.
